Frequently Asked Questions

What is Quasar licensing?

Quasar is our shared licensing platform across all Rigel Open Labs software. One account, license keys per product, feature gating per tier, and remote validation.

Is NOCBoard open source?

NOCBoard Infra is available as source on GitHub (mrhobbes79/NOCBoard). Licensing is required for commercial use past the Free tier. NOCBoard CX is closed-source.

Can I monitor my client networks (MSP use case)?

Yes — that is what NOCBoard CX is for. It has multi-client dashboards, per-client SLA views, and an 8-type device model (router, firewall, switch, AP, radio, SD-WAN, server, other).

Do I need the Mac always online?

Yes — NOCBoard polls from the machine where it runs. Most operators deploy it on a Mac mini at the NOC or HQ, on UPS, with wallboard mode rotating on the TV.
